ULTRASONOGRAPHIC DIAGNOST ICS AND TREATMENT OF PERIPHERAL ARTERY OBSTRUCTIVE DISEASE

The Doppler ultrasound, measurements of peripheral systolic pressures and ankle/brachial index represent the main diagnostic techniques in evaluation of patients with peripheral artery obstructive disease. Duplex ultrasound and color duplex ultrasound has specific indications. This review article summarizes basic ultrasound methodology, its indications and clinical usefulness, including an overview of the clinical classification and basic treatment of peripheral artery obstructive disease.
