Travellers‘ thrombosis

As travellers’ thrombosis is called venous thrombosis, which arises in connection with long distance travel. In addition to the factors of Virchow’s triad, specific factors, including immobilization, decreased relative humidity associated with dehydration and hypoxia caused by decreasing atmospheric pressure are involved in predisposed individuals. Preventive measures based upon the risk groups are described in more detail in the article.
