THERAPY OF PAIN IN OSTEOARTHRITIS

Osteoarthritis (OA) is very often disease of joints and spine. It is heterogenous disease, which could have different etiology, localization, degree and course. The pain is main and the first clinical sign of disease. It is chronic pain in ostheoarthritis and its therapy is very long. Before we start with therapy, we have to do correct diagnosis, to know the reason degree and morphology changes. Part of non-pharmacology therapy is instruction of patient, regime, use of orthopedic helpers, exercise and physical therapy. In pharmacology therapy we use symptomathic drugs with quickly, but shortly action (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, analgetics, intraarticular corticoids) and sympthomatic slow acting drugs (SySADOA).

Keywords: pain, osteoarthritis, analgetics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
