STRATIFICATION OF ARRHYTHMIC RISK POST MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION IN THE ERA OF IMPLANTABLE CARDIOVERTER-DEFIBRILLATOR AND REPERFUSION

Arrhythmic risk stratification post myocardial infarction is actuall even in the era of interventional management of myocardial infarction, which per se improved short and long term prognosis . We can offer effective therapy for high risk patients-implantable defibrillator, which almost eliminates arrhythmic death . Ideal test for risk stratification is still missing . In the past years couple of primary prevention trials were published, each trial using a different strategy for risk stratification . The article reviews evidence based data usefull for practical management of arrhythmic risk post myocardial infarction.

Keywords: Stratification of arrhythmic risk, implantable defibrillators, primary prevention of sudden cardiac death.
