Sport and venous thromboembolism
Sport is an activity recommended by physicians in the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Regular sport activities decrease the risk of VTE regardless of the differences in for various frequencies, intensities, and types of sport as it was proved in the populationbased case-control study by van Stralen et al. However, when preventive measures are not respected sport activities may lead to enforcing Virchow trias and formation of clot in vein or pulmonary embolism.
