The first symptoms of multiple sclerosis and the importance of early treatment

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a frequent central nervous system disease that affects young generation predominantly. Incidence of MS characterizes a specific geographical occurrence. The most common first symptom of MS is optic neuritis. MS is a heterogeneous disease, each person may have a different course, there is no clear first criteria. We can speak of a wide range of early criteria, including cerebellar symptoms, fatigue, urinary disorders, pathological fatigue, paresthesia, dysesthesia. MS treatment has its own specific procedures and is reserved to designated centers in Slovakia, that have a special relationship with health insurance companies. An important part of care for patients with MS is the position of general practitioner.
