Prognostic importance of nocturnal hyp
In patients with arterial hypertension the best predictors of risk of cardiovascular complications and mortality are values of blood pressure measured in the nocturnal phase. Loss of diurnal rhythm, as well as the isolated nocturnal hypertension, can be diagnosed only by using the ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) method. Optimal management of these patients with chronotherapy use may reduce the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
