PREVENTION OF THE ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE
The aim of prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD) is to reduce the incidence of first and recurrent clinical events, disability, and premature death by influencing its risk factors. Currently, this prevention is based on the assessment of total risk of fatal cardiovascular events using the SCORE table based on the main risk factors. The article presents the practical use of this table. It also presents some possibilities of influencing the most important (lipid metabolism abnormalities, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, low physical activity, diet, obesity) and some other risk factors of CHD. It also brings a concise overview of preventive drug administration.
