Practical use of Ů -3 PUFA supplementation in internal medicine

Omega-3 fatty acids currently offer a very broad evidence-based medicine in secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. However, recently, there has been an increase in evidence of positive effects of omega-3 fatty acids in primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases, as well as their utilization in non-cardiac indications. In this article, we review the most recent information and options about supplementing omega-3 fatty acids in daily general practice.
