Health assessmnet in applicants for permission to bear firearms
As of the March 15, 2009 new decree of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic No. 85/2009 Coll. entered into force. The decree regulates the health related criteria that must be fulfilled by an applicant for permission to bear firearms and ammunition. The decree grants to the general practitioner some new powers – e.g. to perform toxicological tests and to refer the applicant to the psychologist. The authors analyze the rights and duties of the physician contained in the decree.
