PARENTERAL AND ENTERAL NUTRITION

Arteficial nutrition and the pharmacology of nutrition became a routine therapeutic option in patients with chronic diseases and an integral part of modern intensive care medicine. It is obvious that malnutrition prolongs the wound healing, leads to state of immunosupression with infectious complications and finally to the increased morbidity and an enhancement of the treatment costs. The correct nutrition of the patient is therefore the sine qua non condition of the successful treatment of the patient.
