News in ESC/EAS recommendations 2019 for dyslipidemia management

Although only three years have elapsed since the publication of the ESC/EAS recommendations on dyslipidemia management, 31 August 2019 new recommendations were summarized and issued due to the accumulation of new evidence. The new ESC/EAS recommendations on lipid management 2019 provide important news and advice on the management of patients with dyslipidemia, which should allow clinicians to effectively and safely reduce cardiovascular risk through modification of the lipids – an important risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis. The aim of the recommendations is to facilitate the communication of professionals with individuals about their cardiovascular risk and benefits of adopting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, as well as timely modification by cardiovascular risk-mediated lipid metabolism disorders. The article summarizes the most important changes that directly affect our daily clinical practice.
