ADVERSE DRUG REACTIONS, PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC RISK

Pharmacotherapeutic risk and possible adverse drug reactions are concomitant and objective circumstances of each pharmacotherapy. Adequate evaluation of drug risk contributes to prevention of patients´ morbidity and mortality. Safety of pharmacotherapy is in continual proportion to risk perception and depends on many factors from the side of patient or drug, which doctor must apply at prescribing. Within postmarketing valuation of drug safety has still important role facultative spontaneous report of adverse drug reactions, which represents significant source of information in pharmacovigilance.

Keywords: adverse drug reaction (ADR), pharmacovigilance, safety of treatment, risk of drug, spontaneous reporting of adverse drug reactions.
