Non-pharmacological options affecting treatment and prevention of high blood pressure

Cardiovascular diseases are the cause of 53% of all deaths in Slovakia, which exceeds twice the mortality rates for all types of malignancies. The value of the standardized mortality ratio for them is one of the worst in Europe. The control of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases is not satisfactory. Paper focuses on one of risk factors – high blood pressure and its possible non-pharmacological therapy. This treatment is used poorly, although it has no adverse effects and interaction, is usable at any age, also as prophylaxis, and without the slightest fear in the pregnancy.
