Testicular cancer – comprehensive overview

Testicular tumors are the most frequent malignancy in 22–44-year-old males. It is thus necessary to know at least the principal epidemiology and etiology data related to testicular tumours. Emphasis is placed on the basic clinical symptoms and diagnostic approaches in the assessment of the primary testicular tumour, presence and extent of its metastases. Exact histopathological classification of this malignancy help determine the treatment procedure and its success. The place of the radical orchiectomy in primary treatment of testicular cancer is being discussed. Therapeutic possibilities in seminomas and nonseminomatous tumours according to the clinical stage of the disease are shown.
