Back-pain treatment options – part II.

Author in his article deals with back-pain treatment options from the algesiologist point of view. He briefly describes epidemiology but also provides definition and causes of back-pain origin, their diagnostic and treatment. Back-pain is here divided into several syndrome types such as myofascial syndrome, fibromyalgy, radicular and pseudoradicular syndromes. The part on back-pain therapy is briefly concerned with pharmacotherapy but it is mainly dedicated to various kinds of non-pharmacological ways of the treatment including so-called invasive rehabilitation and technique of painful scar treatment. It points out interdisciplinarity of the back pain treatment issue and inevitability of a close cooperation of both specialists and general practitioners.
