MALIGNANT UVEAL MELANOMA
Malignant uveal melanoma is most common intraocular tumor in adults. Clinical signs are different, more than 70% of tumors arise from the posterior uvea – choroid and ciliary body. The diagnostic process and adequate therapy may save visual functions, however in T3 stage of the disease the radical operation is necessary. Conservative treatment (brachytherapy and radiotherapy) are used for small and middle-stage tumors, or in combined treatment.
