In the clinical arena of patients with chronic pancreatitis usually dominates pain. Overall therapeutic principles in chronic pancreatitis are: elimination of the noxis, relief of the pain, correction of exocrine and endocrine insufficiency and correction of the complications. The therapy can be divided into: conservative therapy, endoscopic therapy and surgical therapy, the most frequently in combination. New diagnostic methods are needed for early diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis in the future that makes possible new therapies to prevent the progression of the irreversible stage of chronic pancreatitis and so significantly improve the prognosis those patients.
