COMPRESSIVE THERAPY IN CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFICIENCY

Venous hypertension, venous reflux and insuficiency of the valves of the superficial, profound and connecting venous system are the main pathophysiological factors of the chronic venous insuficiency (CHVI).Conservative therapy of the CHVI plays a very important role together with surgical therapy. Causal therapy of the hemodynamic consequences of the disorder is pharmacotherapy and elastic, compressive therapy.

Keywords: chronic venous insuficiency (CHVI), profound venous thrombosis, venous reflux, venous hypertension, primary and secondary CHVI, conservative therapy of CHVI, elastic compression stockings, compressive bandages.
