PAIN MANAGEMENT OF OSTEOPOROSIS

The article provides a review of therapeutic possibilities of physician´s intervention in the symptom of pain that accompanies osteoporosis. Pain in osteoporosis can be relieved by pharmacological treatment (1. classical three-grade scheme of the treatment of pain by combination of non-opioid analgesics, opioid analgesics and adjuvant drugs, 2.calcitonin, 3. local anaesthetics, 4. infusion therapy with calcium) and nonpharmacological treatment (1. proper regimen, 2. means of physical therapy, 3. analgesic acupuncture, 4. psychological procedures, 5. kinesitherapy). The author emphasises a necessity of proper combination of pharmacological analgesic treatment and non-pharmacological methods.
