Classification of dyslipoproteinaemias: Part II – Secondary dyslipoproteinaemias
Secondary dyslipoproteinaemias may develop as a result of other diseases, some medications, hormones or specific exogenous influences, which affect metabolism of lipids and lipoproteins. Most common diseases associated with secondary dyslipoproteinaemias are endocrine and metabolic diseases, chronic renal disease, hepatic disease, nutritional and toxonutritional influences, secondary DLP induced by drugs and hormones, hyperuricemia, acute and chronic infectious diseases, rare diseases and various exogenous factors.
