Where headache ends and migraine begins

This article presents a brief summary of the most common types of headaches in clinical practice of primary care physicians, which is based on the recent international classification of headache disorders. The article is intended for the education of primary care physicians to improve headache management. Early and proper identification of headache type is the first step in adequate treatment. Headache type also determines if the patient can be managed by a primary care physician, or a specialist is needed for further diagnostic and treatment.
