IDEA – THE FIRST RESULTS ABOUT PREVALENCE OF ABDOMINAL OBESITY IN SLOVAKIA
Abdominal obesity (defined as waist circumference ≥102 cm for males and ≥ 88 cm for females) represents the marker for the metabolic syndrome and is the established significant risk factor for cardiovascular events. However its prevalence was not until now systemathically screened in Slovakia yet. Aims of this project was to evaluate this in larger population samples all of the world.
