PEPTIC ULCER PHARMACOTHERAPY
The article displays the most recent therapeutic options for peptic ulcers, as well as the guidelines from the recent past, which are still followed. The author talks about the advantages and disadvantages of both of these gudelines, considering the effectivness, costs and also the most frequent mistakes in clinical practise. In addition to the treatment options, article offers a defintion of the peptic ulcer disease and a list of the basic pathophysiological mechanisms leading to the damage of the mucosa, with the therapeutic options and mechanism of action.
