FARMAKOTHERAPY OF THE ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE, REQUIREMENTS AND POSSIBILITIES OF THE OUTPATIENT CARE

Paper describes principles of pharmacotherapy of ischemic heart disease. Authors focused dominantly on symptomatic therapy concentrating to elimination and prevention of anginal attacks. There are three main groups of drugs for achieving these goals: beta blockers, calcium antagonists and nitrates. Beta-blockers are considered drugs of first choice for chronic treatment. Nitrates are used namely in a acute anginal attack. Recently drugs operate through opimalization of myocyte metabolism such as trimetazidin showed to be effective.
