Gout – diagnosis and the therapy
Gout is a disease which is caused by a metabolic disorder that causes a accumulation of uric acid in the body due to overproduction of purine bases, or their insufficient renal excretion. During longer duration originally asymptomatic hyperuricaemia proceeds to involvement of locomotor system, which is at first manifested by acute gout attacks, then relieved by calm intercritical period. After longer duration of the disease can pass to chronic gouty arthropathy with tophi. The article gives an overview of current treatment options days.
