Diagnostic approach and treatment of coeliac disease in general practitioner office
To make a diagnosis of coeliac disease is very difficult for both, general practitioners and specialists. However, a patient is likely seen by his general practitioner more frequently than a specialist. This gives the general practitioner a better opportunity to raise the issue of a possible diagnosis of coeliac disease. The aim of this article is to summarise the main guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of coeliac disease by a general practitioner.
