COVID-19 and possible urological problems and complications

COVID-19 will remain the unprecedented health crisis of our modern era and represents the greatest challenge faced by healthcare systems worldwide. It was necessary to urgently reorganize the healthcare system, prioritize urgent operations, especially oncological ones, cancel elective procedures and consider changes in treatment options. The syndrome of conditions after COVID-19 includes a diverse range of multiple symptoms and signs that can occur in isolation or in combination, often overlap, are transient, permanent and tend to change over time. The article presents current knowledge about the most common, so far identified urological complications of COVID-19. Management of these conditions requires careful evaluation of the patient’s symptoms, comorbidities, and treatment goals. Preventive vaccination has proven to be the right medical practice. Further experience and continued quality research are needed.
