CHRONIC PANCREATITIS SURGERY

Chronic pancreatitis is inflamatory disease, wich id characterized by progressive fibrosis of pancreas. The most commom causes are alcohol intake, biliary tract disease, pancreas divisum and hereditary pancreatitis, Despite the ethiology, in the time when diagnosis is established, inflamatory and morphological changes are almost equal in all patients. The main symptom is pain and diagnosis is ussualy made according finding on CT, MRI and MRCP. The basic principles of surgical treatment indicated due to pain syndroma will be presented in this article.
