ATYPICAL PATHOGENS AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE THERAPY OF RESPIRATION INFECTIONS

Atypical respiratory pathogens are recently recognized as one of the leading causes of community – aquired pneumonia and other respiratory infections. The difference and the common features of „atypical“ and „typical“ respiratory infections are documented. Recent data of epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical picture of respiratory infections caused by M. pneumoniae, C. pneumoniae and L. pneumophila are presented together with its impact on therapeutic strategy.
