Arterial hypertension in the elderly
Arterial hypertension is common in the elderly. It is due to the arterial stiffness, neurohormonal and autonomic dysregulation, the aging kidney, atherosclerosis and unhealthy lifestyle. A correct diagnosis of hypertension is important. There are wide evidence based possibilities for treatment of hypertension in elderly patients.
