ATB TREATMENT OF INFECTIVE ENDOCARDITIS
Timely and accurate recommendations for the antimicrobial therapy of the infective endocarditis (IE) is the goal of this paper. from the clinical point of view it is useful to mention separately three sections: IE in injection drug users, native valve IE and prosthetic valve IE. Diagnostic criteria are not always clear and typical, the physicians are challenged to be particularly careful in antibiotic use during the care about febrile patient with risk factors. Each section does include common pathogens, first choice and alternative regime and important points. Also the empiric therapy of IE is stressed.
