Antibiotic therapy
Antibiotic therapy of bacterial infections is based on in vitro activity, clinical efficacy and safety and epidemiological safety. Right choice of antibiotic reflects its pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties. The spectrum of causative agents is unchanged, but their resistance to antimicrobial agents is increasing. Knowledge of local epidemiology is essential.
