Acute confusion in emergency service
Acute confusions may be caused by a wide variety of situations. We meet them quite often during interventions of emergency medical services. During time-limited intervention and without imaging techniques and laboratory tests, the doctor must decide in the field so as to distinguish acute episodes of confusion that accompanies less serious conditions from serious diseases, where the patient's prognosis is heavily dependent from early treatment (stroke, myocardial infarction, intracranial hemorrhage, hypoglycemia).
Keywords: acute confusion, causes, treatment.
