The importance of surgery of saphenofemoral junction and its anomalies in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency
Saphenofemoral junction (SFJ), the insufficiency and anomalies SFJ play an important role in the development of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). The goal of surgical intervention is to remove the SFJ reflux and eliminate complicating anomalies of SFJ. As standard radical performances are considered crossectomia with high ligation of great saphenous vein, phlebectomy of v. tributaries (tributary phlebectomy) and surgical removal of all anomalies of SFJ. The authors present the most serious types of venous anomalies of SFJ and their surgical treatment.
