A dermatologist’s perspective on leg ulcers

Chronic wounds are still current medical and economical problem. Essential therapy is both the casual treatment of the underlying disease and the symptomatic treatment depending on the phase of wound healing. The choice of a suitable therapy depends on the extent of the wound, the localization, exudation, bacterial infestation. Compression therapy remains the mainstay of treatment for venous leg ulcerations.
