Venoactive treatment in individual clinical classes of chronic venous disease
Chronic venous disease has a considerable impact on patient´s quality of life. Due to very high occurrence and chronic course is associated with high cost for health care worldwide. Understanding the pathophysiology and early diagnostic process is the key to selecting appropriate treatment in individual clinical classes of chronic venous disease. Evidence shows that patients benefit from pharmacologic treatment and lifestyle advice to improve quality of life. Venoactive drugs are used to relieve subjective symptoms and lower limbs edema in patients in any stage of the disease. In the management of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency venoactive drugs together with compression treatment have the central role. In this article the importance of pharmacologic treatment in individual CEAP clinical classes is discussed.
