The use of recombinant factor VIIa for massive hemorrhage of pregnancy

Any massive hemorrhage is a life-threatenig evet. Hemorrhage in pregnant women, especially postpartum hemorrhage associated with blood loss of more than 500 ml represents life-threatening situations for delivering women. According to WHO, more than half of deaths associated with pregnancy are due to massive postpartal blood losses. Besides medications and surgery, it is necessary to supplement blood and blood products in this situation. Factor VIIa administration in postpartum bleeding has been responsible for significant improvement over the last 10 years.
