The role of pedal bypass in a treatment of critical limb ischemia
Despite of development in the field of vascular surgery and endovascular procedures the number of high limb amputation remained unchanged in Slovakia. Many patients with diabetic foot are undergoing high limb amputation even if not all the possibilities for treatment are used. We are giving a report about one of the treatment possibility – pedal bypassing. It became a routine arterial reconstruction with acceptable results. It can be used in many patients otherwise treated conservatively towards a high limb amputation.
