Paradoxical embolism to coronary artery as a first manifestation of thromboembolic disease – case report

Deep vein thrombosis is a very serious disease, potentionally life-threatening. In most cases is thrombus formed in the veins of lower extremities. It causes a possibility of pulmonary embolism. Paradoxical embolism is a special and rare type of embolism, which occurs when the part of venous thrombus moves to the systemic arterial circulation. This case report presents a young patient with paradoxical embolism to the branch of right coronary artery with the development of acute myocardial infarction.
