Endovascular therapy of acute aortic syndromes

Acute aortic syndromes are a group of aortic diseases with a variable clinical picture and life-threatening complications. As part of diagnostics, we also quite often encounter the intertwining of individual pathologies. With the exception of traumatic lesions, they almost always occur as a result of untreated or poorly corrected arterial hypertension and atherosclerotic aortic involvement. Due to the life-threatening condition with the possibility of aortic rupture, it is necessary to choose the right therapeutic procedure in individual patients immediately after the diagnosis of acute aortic syndrome. The article provides an overview of acute aortic syndromes, treatment options, summarizes current approaches to indications with regard to identifying the right candidates for endovascular treatment with emphasis on the main role of imaging modalities (CT and its navigational EVAR fusion), complexity of multidisciplinary team as well as material and technical support. workplaces that are crucial for the rapid and correct diagnosis of aortic lesions with a view to achieving the optimal therapeutic effect.
