DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA AT PRESENT

Benign prostatic hyperplazia is most common benign tumor in a man. Incidence depends on the age. Although it is not life-treatening, its clinical manifestation as lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) reduces the patien´s quality of life. The moderate to severe LUTS can occur among 13 % of men aged 40 – 49 years and among 28 % of those older than 70 years. Etiology of BPH is not fully explore. It depends on endocrinological system and predicts his multifactorial origin. For well-known factors which produce BPH is the age (process of aging). Production of testosteron by testes is normal. It is necessary to identify more factors of progression of BPH. It will be easier to manage BPH and decrease incidence of acute retention of urine or requirement of surgical therapy.
