The role of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy in modern urological stone therapy
The global prevalence of urolithiasis is growing and requires safety, effective and cost-acceptable therapy. The discovery od ESWL was a revolution in mangment of upper urinary tract stones – it has led to a definitive abandonment of open surgery procedures and brought establishment of non- / minimal invasive treatment era. The leaders of nowadays – endourological techniques continually depreciate the importance of ESWL.
