Fixed combination of hyaluronate and chondroitin sulfate recurrent cystitis
Hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate are widely distributed glycosaminoglycans throughout the human body. Among others, they also cover the bladder surface and the disruption of their layer may result in a higher incidence of urinary tract infections (IMC). This text discusses the possibilities of their intravesical application in order to reduce the recurrence of IMC, however, they also play a role in the treatment of bladder painful syndrome or in men with prostate cancer after radiotherapy.
Keywords: IMC, prostatic cancer, GAG, recurrence, BPS/IC, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid, cystitis.
