Trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC) – basic diagnostic procedures and management
Severe injuries and polytraumas are challenging health systems due to their high mortality, complicated management and socioeconomic impact. Early deaths are mainly caused by central nervous system injuries and life-threatening bleeding. In the review, the authors present a comprehensive overview of the basic diagnostics and treatment of trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC). The paper explores the pathophysiology, diagnostic possibilities, and emphasizes the most important aspects of early and correct treatment of TIC in patients with severe trauma.
