Sinus pilonidalis - our experience with treatment

Sinus pilonidalis (SP) is an gained disease of a skin and a subcutis intergluteal area. Mainly young productive people are cursed with it. They have quite serious troubles caused by the disease and thier sick leave has to be prolonged which has a considerable social-economic impact. The aim of this article is to explain how SP arises what are its pymptoms and to introduce the treatment which is performed at our deparment. We want to emphasize the succesfulness of our individual methods and to depict their advantages and disadvantages for the patient. We can say that this disease is at the edge of surgical interes tas the treatment is performed mainly by a young and not very experiences surgeon. Our to date experience show the way of solving that disease successfully.
