Laparoscopic distal pancreatic resection – perioperative and postoperative complications
Laparoscopic distal pancreatic resection becomes today an equivalent to open surgery. In our work, we evaluate by retrospective analysis of patients our results in the last 5 years for laparoscopic distal pancreatic resection with a focus on intraoperative and postoperative complications. For analysis, we used the classification according to Satava for intraoperative complications and classification according to Dindo-Claviena in postoperative complications. Intraoperative complications occurred in 42 % of patients, postoperative complications occurred in 58 % of patients. Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy is the surgical procedure burdened by a relatively high complication rate, particularly during the development of a „learning curve“.
