Acute right colonic diverticulitis imitating acute appendicitis - case report

The authors present two case reports of two patients acutely hospitalized to the surgical clinic for the diverticulitis of the right colon. In one case the acute appendicitis was presumed. In the other case the appendicitis of the stump was predicted as the appendectomy to the patient was made in the past. The introduction of the work is focused on the differential diagnostics of the acute appendicitis and the diverticulitis of the right colon. In the case report the significant of the history of the patient, physical examination, laboratory parameters and imaging modalities for the diagnosis and medication, in this case CT examination is emphasized.
