MIXED AFFECTIVE DISORDERS: DYSPHORIC MANIA

Mixed affective disorders represent an important clinical entity as regards their significance, incidence, clinical course, prognosis and therapeutic response. The current valid classification of psychic disorders (MKCH-10, 1992) determines for cases of „mixture“ of affective symptoms a special diagnostic category, but the definition of that is not precise and therefore terms as „mixed disorders“, „dysphoric mania“ or „mixed mania“ are being used as synonyms. The article summarizes the important knowledge and possibilities of therapeutic control of the named disorders.

Keywords: mixed affective disorders, dysphoric mania.
