Schizotypal disorders

Schizotypal personality disorder represents disease, which does not attract many psychiatrists. This condition is believed to be on the edge of schizophrenia. There is a connection with schizophrenia in cognitive disturbances, social withdrawal and limited emotional expression. There is a obvious genetic link to schizophrenia. From psychodynamic point of view it is believed, that schizotypical disorder belongs to borderline disorders in broader meaning. Diagnosis of schizotypal disorder has its own history and typical features. Complex therapy includes both psychotherapeutic approach and drug therapy. The goal is to improve adaptive abilities of a patient.
